Kauai Sunrise Shell
Indigenous to Hawai'i, Sunrise shells are a beautiful shell, said to capture the splashes of the Hawaiian sunrise, yellows, pinks, oranges reds, and shades of purple. Legend says that originally, only "ali‘i" or Hawaiian royalty wore these shells. While once abundant, found on the shores of Kaua'i during sunrise, high demand has caused these precious shells to now only be found in the depths of 10-40 feet, where collectors must dive for them.
